Thanksgiving 09'

Well besides the boys being sick, we had a great day over at my aunt's house with her family, my parents and great-grandma. We stuffed ourselves with super food...and mommy topped the night off with movie theatre popcorn at "New Moon"! So we have enough calories to get us by for the next couple days. LOL

Kellon was a pilgrim at the school Thanksgiving feast. Here he is with Great-Grandma Gloria.

Now it's time for Christmas preparations...mom and dad hit the black Friday sales this morning and maybe grabbed a bargain or two for the boys. :) Taran has been fever free for about 24 hours so hopefully they will be on the well train soon.

Have a Wonderful Weekend!

Reading

Sitting on a lap with a book for Taran is very rare...he's just a boy on the go. So when my boys were all sitting with a book last night, I had to hurry and grab the camera! Taran's current favorite is:

You sing it to the tune of "The wheels on the bus". Taran loves to sing along and we do sing this over and over again...but we will take advantage of any lap/snuggle time with our on the go boy!
What is Kellon reading? He is in the AR (Advanced Reading) program at school. He gets books to take home and read, then he takes computer tests on them at school. His memory is amazing and does very well on them! It will be exciting to see what grade level he will be at at the end of the school year! Right now they "say" 2nd grade..but I beg to differ. LOL His teacher also works one on one with him daily with comprehension work sheets. We are so proud of Kellon!

Halloween Fun!

We have candy coming out of our ears! What a fun Halloween we had this year! The weather was perfect for trick or treating! We dressed Taran in Kellon's previous Indian costume. The wig made the costume complete and Taran was a little apprehensive at first...but he did keep the wig on! Thank you, Taran! You we just so cute!!

Kellon's robot costume has been a labor of love between Dave, Kellon and I. We saved all the lids we could in the last month for the special buttons. All we had to do was buy the dryer duct for the arms. He was the hit for the night and got many cool comments about liking his costume!
We tried an outdoor shot with the boys but Taran had other things in mind...
We did a trunk or treat at the nursing home, plus they had a free hot dog meal. We take advantage of the free stuff! LOL Then we headed out trick our treating around Firth. We had a great time...Dave and I could of went for longer but Kellon was wanting to go home and Taran's pace was turning into a snail's...So we headed home.
And enjoyed our sweets!
Taran wanted to try everything!

I can't believe Halloween has come and went so fast...the Holidays will be upon us very soon!

Halloween Week

Wow, what a busy week! So much activity going on in and around our home! It was book week at school! And it was all about Arthur by Marc Brown. His real life sister lives in Kearney, Nebraska and the character D.W. is based on her. So she came to Kellon's school for a fun visit! She even taught all the kids how to draw Arthur step by step. Kellon did a super job! It warms mommy's heart that Kellon is such the artist. :)

Friday was the book parade at school! The kids were encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character...Kellon chose Charlie Brown. We made the simple Charlie Brown design on a 1/2 off t-shirt and added black shorts and we were complete! Kellon said all the kids were calling him Charlie. :)

This week we finished up Kellon's robot costume. It's a labor of love and Kellon is itching to go trick or treating tonight!

Last night we headed to Hickman for the Boy Scout's trick or treating trail! Taran reluctantly put on his dino costume...but once it was on, he was okay with it. It kept him warm in the upper 30 degree weather! And Kellon was a cool cowboy!

For a $1, the boys each got a treat bag and got to walk the trail and stop at all the trick or treat booths. Local businesses handed out the treats. There was over 30 of them so not bad for $1!

Taran was saying cheese in this picture....I think he was worried about the red hairy man next to us! He didn't know what to think of all the costumes.

The boys got quite the treats! From candy, to small toys, to free kids meals!

Taran didn't know what to think about that spider on his finger!

The dentist gave toothbrushes and fun vampire teeth! I think I know what Kellon wants to be next year! Oohhh, scary!

So now it's the morning of the real Trick or Treating...and the boys are literally bouncing off the walls! Could be the sugar they all consumed from last night! Oh but we're having fun! Stay tuned for more costume pictures!

The Pumpkin Patch

With very few "warm" days this fall it was hard to get a trip to our local pumpkin patch, Roca Berry Farm. So finally last evening after Dave got home from work we headed there! Beware, picture overload! This was the first time Taran has been here and he loves to run so we let him go loose! He went straight to the castle! My boy loves anything on wheels, fruit and castles! He was in heaven!

Kellon and dad loved the fun slide hooked on to the back of it!

The hay was a favorite!

The boys were getting hungry in Candy Land!

I forgot to mention that Taran LOVES animals!

Watch out Taran! There's a crazy driver on that tricycle!

A haunted castle! Taran's lucky day!

I wanted the perfect picture of my boys with the pumpkins but something else was getting their attention...

The monster mash band behind me! A fun little band made up of mummy, monsters, a skeleton and Frankenstein. They moved to the music when someone would walk by. Always a favorite when we come visit!

Those pumpkins are HUGE compared to our garden pumpkins this year!

Kellon's favorite was the all the haunted houses! He loved them!

Kellon and dad went into the big one while Taran and I stayed outside...Taran had his eye on this guy the whole time. He moaned and moved with the haunting music.

We had a little snack for supper.

We caught the last hayrack ride before closing time.

One last visit to the Monster Mash Band...

A fun little outing to get in the Halloween spirit! Taran made sure he said bye to all the scarecrows on the wagon. :)

Oh, I love this time of year!

Finally!

On October 2, at the dentist, we discovered Kellon had a loose tooth! We thought it would be out a week ago but Kellon was very careful with eating and brushing on the dangling tooth. Well FINALLY it broke loose this morning while he was brushing! I was actually asleep since I worked during the night...but I heard there are a few panicked tears from the blood. So now we (mommy) can relax from being worried Kellon was going to loose his 1st tooth at school in his food or something....It's safely tucked under his pillow for Miss (Mrs.) Tooth Fairy.
The permanent tooth actually made an appearance a week ago (Oct. 16)! So I guess we don't have to wait on that. LOL

Another bottom tooth is loose, so we will do this over and over again for quite some time! How fun!

Happy Birthday to my mom!! Kellon really wanted to show you his missing tooth in person. Sorry it was one day late! We love ya!
